John Coltrane in Jazz (dir. Ken Burns, 2000)
good day off: sleep in. 2 cups of coffee, take care of chores and financial/educational business. then scales, patterns, reading and structured improvising (real book tunes), transcribing and arranging on finale (cannonball this week), take a rip and hop on the looping for some improv layers. a few minutes on the piano. listen to some reggae, take a nap, grill something, green tea, skiing videos and live concerts. read, write or draw something, check the moon and stars, and a good bowl before crashing with some eno or takemitsu. and soon the mountains will open!
